Winter Training
with Sarah Stremming & Megan Foster
December 29-30th, 2018
Fun Fur Paws ~ Mt. Vernon, WA
This training camp is about working smarter, not harder. Attendees will learn what it means to “train like you trial, trial like you train”, and how to improve communication, create ring-sustainable behaviors, and to have more success on an agility course with your teammate.
(Registration will open November 9th at 10AM)
Who is it for?
This workshop is ideal for teams that are already competing, or getting ready to compete. Dogs should be able to negotiate contact obstacles and the weave poles, as well as sequence 15-20 obstacles.
Working Spot vs. Auditing Spot
This is a training seminar, so there will be no shortage of geeking-out and discussing the ins and outs of a large variety of topics that Megan and Sarah feel critical to bridging the gap between training & trialing.
Working teams will be split into two groups. Each group works with both instructors, both days. There will be group discussion and lecture before and after splitting into working sessions.
Auditors have the sweet deal of sitting in & joining the discussions, as well as being able to observe 16 different dog and handler teams working through the skills presented over the weekend.
What will you learn?
Training is always individualized for each learner (human and dog!) but we will cover:
- Reinforcement Stashing
- Handling Errors
- Which End of the Leash?
- System for Problem Solving
- Be the Food Robot
- Cold Trial Training
- Starting at a Success Point
- Record Keeping
What does it cost?
Working spots – $375
Working Spots are limited to 16 teams (8 per group)
Auditing Spots – $80/single day or $150/weekend
Auditing Spots are unlimited
